Gardening experts says you can turn a dull spot into

a blaze of color with these beautiful shurbs.

Azaleas are among most popular garden shurbs. Many flower in Autum, continue to spot flower though winter, and then have a burst spring blooms which completely cover the bush.

Though basically the shade loving plants, growing well in filtered sun or part shade, some can be grown succesfully from the sun. They need good drainageand sligthly acid soil with plenty of humus in the form of rotted leaf mould and old manure.

Most of the Azaleas grown in Australia are evergreen but there are also many deciduous varieties which do well in cold climates. So if you live in a cold, winter climate where evergreens can be frost-damage, they are well worth trying.

Deciduous varieties have yellow, peach and orange flowers not found in evergreens and some are also fragrant. Home gardeners tend to called them all Mollis azaleas, but there are many other recognized straints such as Ghent, which is sweety scented, Rustica and the modern Knap Hill, Exbury and Ilam varieties.

To provide a clean and healthy world for our children we need to use some of the renewable resources such as solar power that do not deplete with use.
